Zerihun
History:
Zerihun started working for Parkway in 1982 as an Attendant. He was promoted in less than a year to Assistant Manager and continued to climb the corporate ladder to his current position, General Manager of Philadelphia and New Jersey.
What he likes most about Parkway:
“What I like most about Parkway is our culture. Our company feels like a family. The people here respect each other and are very generous with their knowledge. We welcome new hires, teach them what we do and how we do it, and everybody gains in the process. I think that this is because the employees here are confident that their individual contributions are recognized and rewarded.”
His advice to new manager trainees:
“Have an open mind. Be creative. Listen to your employees, give and get feedback from your employees and customers. This is very important.”
Jim
History:
Jim joined the Parkway team in May of 2003 as a Manager Trainee. He was promoted to Facility Manager by August and currently runs his own hotel, valet, and surface lot operation.
What he likes most about Parkway:
“What I like most about working for Parkway are the circumstances that make each day unique. There is ample opportunity to change up daily activities and situational problems provide me with the chance to be creative to work around them. I never have the same day twice!”
His advice to new manager trainees:
“I would give the same advice that another manager gave me when I first started... 'Stay proactive and you will succeed.' The list of things to do can grow and each day's tasks can run together quickly. The only way to prevent that is by completing assignments as they come to you. Also, customers will notice and be extremely pleasant if you help them in a timely manner. The only way to stay on top of things is through personal organization.”
